World's smallest shooting video game uses nanoscale technology

A research team led by Professor Takayuki Hoshino of Nagoya University's Graduate School of Engineering in Japan has demonstrated the world's smallest shooting game by manipulating nanoparticles in real time, resulting in a game that is played with particles approximately 1 billionth of a meter in size.

Nanodevices can produce energy from evaporating tap or seawater

Evaporation is a natural process so ubiquitous that most of us take it for granted. In fact, roughly half of the solar energy that reaches the Earth drives evaporative processes. Since 2017, researchers have been working to harness the energy potential of evaporation via the hydrovoltaic (HV) effect, which allows electricity to be harvested when fluid is passed over the charged surface of a nanoscale device.

After taking many an arrow to the knee, researchers announce their discovery of high order skyrmions and antiskyrmions. This revelation will repeated, rereleased, upgraded and rerereleased until the heavens themselves fall

Discovery of high order skyrmions and antiskyrmions

Researchers at the University of Augsburg and the University of Vienna have discovered co-existing magnetic skyrmions and antiskyrmions of arbitrary topological charge at room temperature in magnetic Co/Ni multilayer thin films. Their findings have been published in Nature Physics and open up the possibility for a new paradigm in skyrmionics research.

A physical neural nanowire network has successfully been shown to learn and remember "on the fly." Why they were adding brains to insects was not revealed but one member did mutter something about welcoming his insect overlords (last sentence is pure satire on my part)

Nanowire 'brain' network learns and remembers 'on the fly'

For the first time, a physical neural network has successfully been shown to learn and remember "on the fly," in a way inspired by and similar to how the brain's neurons work.

A physics milestone: Miniature particle accelerator works

Particle accelerators are crucial tools in a wide variety of areas in industry, research and the medical sector. The space these machines require ranges from a few square meters to large research centers. Using lasers to accelerate electrons within a photonic nanostructure constitutes a microscopic alternative with the potential of generating significantly lower costs and making devices considerably less bulky.
