Dans l’opéra ciné (ouverture, 1er acte, entracte,, 2° acte, épilogue) de #BradyCorbet , The #Brutalist, le 1° acte « The Enigma of Arrival » renvoie au roman de #Naipaul (Penguin, 1987). Emprunt fortuit, réfléchi ? Chez Naipaul tout est espace, découverte, observation.… Dans The Brutalist on étouffe, plans très très serrés. Alors que Le 2° acte (titre ?) est tout espace, plans larges, longs travellings, et l’intrigue (construira, construira pas ? ) est censée vous porter…
#AdrienBrody « tient la baraque » malgré les errements d'un scénario « biopic grand public » loin des créations de László Tóth : sans compromis, portées par une vision quasi mystique.

En lisant #Naipaul (en l'occurrence The Enigma of Arrival, Penguin, 1987) mon abyssale naïveté de lecteur se révèle tout crûment : il y a des livres (et des autrices.eurs) qui se donnent à vous (celles et ceux qui savent jouer de ce que Michon appelle la "crapulerie romanesque") quand d'autres exigent que vous vous donniez à eux, que vous fassiez l'effort de ne plus voir le monde que par leurs yeux. V.S. Naipaul est un maître sur ce terrain...
