NAACP Calls on Black Athletes & Fans to Withhold Support of Public Schools in States Attacking Black Voting Rights

The NAACP today launched the “Out of Bounds” campaign, a national call for Black athletes, families, fans, alumni, and consumers to withhold athletic and financial support from public universities in states that have moved to limit, weaken, or erase Black voting representation in the wake of the Supreme Court’s 6-3 ruling in Louisiana v. Callais, which gutted what was left of the Voting Rights Act.

“Magnano had not been dispatched to the call and took it up himself to respond. According to the report, Magnano reached speeds of up to 88 mph to get to the scene.

‘It seemed like he had a motive, a serious motive, of striving to hurt and harm (Jones),’ said Scot X. Esdaile, president of the #Connecticut #NAACP, who referred to Magnano as an ‘outlaw’ and a ‘cowboy’ …. The warrant affidavit also said Magnano fired ‘at least’ four shots after Jones had already fallen to the ground.”

Opinion: Poetic Justice: A love letter to Columbus – Matter News

A little over a week ago, a police officer stood in front of cameras and lied. He lied loudly into a microphone, attempting to plant evidence on my character by fabricating the cost of my suit and the brand of my shoes, all to set up a rehearsed line calling me a 'poverty pimp.'

Jennifer Rubin: The civil rights activists and 'architects' championing All Roads Lead to the South

LaTosha Brown, co-founder of Black Voters Matter proposes, "I am asking us to stop being incrementalists. Incrementalism assumes a system that operates in good faith. We do not have one. I am asking us to be the architects. The people who understand that we are building for a hundred years, not for one election or news cycle.”
