There's a new blog post at TheSupercargo ...

This week's post reviews my Preptober blog post to review how I feel things worked out for me during NaNoWriMo23. (Spoiler: they worked out well!)

If you're stuck, what will your protagonist do when the shouting's done? Head back to what they know or strike out on a new adventure?

#Novemberschreiben23 #NaNoWriMo23 | Tage 26-30

If you're stuck, explore the difference between what your characters want & what they're actually getting. How have things changed?

Finishing up NaNoWriMo with a little over 15000 words. It's hard to describe how I feel. This fall I've been more consistently productive in writing than any other period, and it's nice to track progress and see that I'm writing at such a consistent pace.

But I don't know how y'all do it. How do you get 50k words in a month. I'm in awe of some of your productivity.

How's everyone else's NaNoWriMo going?

My graph today. I've created quite the rollercoaster! On December 1st I'll do an annotated version which will explain the lows *and*the highs. 😉

Ever since the first hint of the story idea for this project came to me I've been calling it Uncalled or The Uncalled, but I'm starting to think maybe I should remove the "un" part. After all, they actually *are* called, it's just that the gods insist they didn't call anyone. (These gods are a bit salty and pouting (though I wouldn't suggest saying that to their face).)

I'll get to 50k tomorrow. According to my outline - which I haven't been paying much attention to but I will be for the upcoming parts - I'm about halfway through. I'm not sure the story justifies 100k words, but we'll see. It isn't sucking so far, but I'm a little concerned about pacing. I'm also worried that I'll end up with something *I'll* enjoy reading but which will bore anyone else lmao. We shall see!

After taking a mental health day yesterday, today I had my highest daily word count day: 2,893. I would have gone for an even 3k, but I came to the end of a section and my brains were starting to melt. This brings my total up to 46,774. I'd guess I'm about 60-65% of the way through the story. I'll be at this until mid December.
