NZ Govt Officials say transparency is critical to build trust in the government's most important data system, but the business case for expanding it is mostly blanked out.

Over two-thirds of the 95 pages in the business case to overhaul Statistics NZ's Integrated Data Infrastructure, or IDI, are entirely (or a few almost entirely) redacted.

Do you trust NZ Govt with your sensitive data? With current #infosec failures and behaviour of some officials, including #NZpolice ?

@matt I contacted #NZpolice asking who to complain to about offensive junk mail and they were no help whatsoever.

These days I scribble my reactions and circle the Authorised by and add Return to Sender, and drop it in the mail box by my local supermarket. I did that with a National flyer yesterday.

I encourage everyone to do the same. See if they like it!

"Zara and Fern read every damning word in the IPCA report. Most of the police officers criticised were anonymised, but the names of those who were identified were familiar - they’d read them before, back in August in that release of official police documents detailing the timeline of the investigation into Forbes and who was aware of the complaint about him."

So is Andrew Coster losing his current job?
If he had principles, he would have handed his resignation in a while ago.
I had to deal with him after the Christchurch mosques attack. Feeling ill right now.

Tiki Taane - Freedom To Sing (Live at Illuminati Superclub)

(about Tiki's experiences, from his arrest by #NZPolice in April 2011. Tiki was handcuffed, arrested & detained in jail for singing NWAs "F@#k Da Police" during an R18 concert at Illuminati, and was charged with "inciting violence." The charge was later dropped & the cops admitted there was a "misunderstanding").

"So creating an offence of 'disobeying police' or 'refusing to tell police your plans' is effectively a licence for police to beat people at will, an invitation to the sort of violent and brutal policing exemplified above.

This sort of policing is profoundly incompatible with democracy. It is not the sort of policing we want to see here."
