Fun fact about Central Park, New York. Spanning 843 acres, this iconic park was the first major landscaped public park in the United States and serves as a green oasis in the midst of Manhattan's urban sprawl. #UrbanOasis #NYCParks #glbnom Image Credit:@the_ameteurs on instagram

I was late to pick my daughter up from camp because #NYCParks closed a huge portion of Corona-Meadows Flushing Park. Apparently for some kind of music festival. There was, of course, no bike detour. The area has highways running through it, and the bridges over the highways are cordoned off. How do you get to #QueensZoo? Why, just take this other pedestrian bridge (which has gates blocking cargo bikes)!

Just constant middle fingers to #BikeNYC in central queens from Eric Adams' administration.

I stand with tens of thousands of New Yorkers demanding that Mayor Adams fund the NYC Parks Department at 1% of the city budget—an overdue investment in parks equity and the future of New York.

On the campaign trail, the Mayor “proudly committed to a 'percent for parks' plan,” stating that “parks are not a luxury, it's a necessity.”

But his administration has not yet followed through.  Please join me in demanind he keep his promise.

I know it’s not the Rocky Mountains but it’s pretty cool playing in the shadow of the Whitestone Bridge. ⁦@BallysGolfFP@twitter.com#NYCParks
@ShiitakeToast funny that you mention smoking. I just took a walk through Bryant Park, and overheard a tourist say, "You don't see anyone smoking here." Smoking has been banned in #nycparks since 2011.

New Yorkers for Parks will also be hosting a webinar the week prior on March 11 to share key updates on the fight for parks funding, what’s at stake in the upcoming budget, and how you can get involved in advocating for NYC’s parks and green spaces.
