Michael Blake is running for #NY15 next year. He supports #MedicareForAll. He says we should never have to decide between meals and healthcare. #NewYork
According to the press release, they expect ~107,000 residents of #NY15 alone to lose healthcare coverage due to the #BigUglyBill, and that's just via Medicaid & the Essential Plan. Several thousand ACA exchange enrollees will also be priced out of coverage. That's over 15% of the total population.

🚨 #NEWYORK: Holy crap. I had estimated that a whopping 64% of the total population of #NY15 was enrolled in Medicaid.

It turns out I was wrong: It's actually over *70%.*

New York: Gov. Hochul joins Rep. Torres to warn of crippling impact of GOP's #BigUglyBill

This actually happened a couple of weeks ago but I've been playing catchup after being on vacation for a week or so... Via NY State of Health: Estimated Health Impacts of Almost $13 Billion Annually, Paralyzing Our Health Care System 1.5 Million New Yorkers Stripped of Health Care Coverage and Become Uninsured; Projected $8 Billion in Losses for New York’s Hospitals Governor Kathy Hochul today joined U.S. Representative Ritchie Torres, local elected officials, doctors, and healthcare leaders to warn of the destructive ramifications of President Trump and Congressional Republicans’ “Big Ugly Bill” on New York State. The cuts imposed by Washington Republicans are expected to have a significant impact, with an anticipated nearly $13 billion affecting New Yorkers healthcare system. Additionally, approximately 1.5 million New Yorkers are projected to lose their health insurance coverage, while over 300,000 households are expected to lose some or all of their SNAP benefits.

I'm also posting #NY15, Ritchie Torres' district, as it's the poorest Congressional district (per capita) in the country. ~14,000 ACA exchange enrollees are in danger. ~96,000 BHP enrollees* are in danger. ~157,000 Medicaid expansion enrollees are in danger. *(aka Essential Plan)
On a related note: #NY12 & #NY15 are only a few miles apart. Talk about socioeconomic contrast:

I’ve added a special note to #NY15 (Ritchie Torres’ district), the poorest House district in the country, where the number of residents with employer-based coverage appears to be so low it falls below the margin of error of my estimates for the other categories.

Ironically, the House district w/the *2nd* highest % of its total population enrolled in ACA coverage is the deep blue #NY15 (Ritchie Torres), where 39% of the population has either ACA exchange plans, ACA BHP coverage or ACA Medicaid Expansion coverage.
