Radio forecast from College Station boffins calls for 80% chance of thunderstorms later today.

Weatherflow calls for a 50% chance of midday and afternoon thunderstorms. That forecast is localized to our paddock using machine learning to interpolate in the model runs. Their timing is usually pretty good as opposed to overly broad AccuWeather radio boffins.

But the big question is do we put the bins out or not. City has offered no guidance. Are they in storm mode (bin crew doing storm duties). ?

#nwsnhc_atlantic is in between storms mode. Storm is now post-tropical so #NWSWPC is forecast lead.

#NWSNHC_Atlantic attention is directed to Florida as Debby intensifies and approaches landfall. Floridians are stowing for sea and those in the storm surge flood plain are evacuating if they have the means to do so.

In the US, we’ve learned through experience to shelter in place for wind and to evacuate for storm surge and inland flooding. Today’s preparation focuses on evacuation of the flood plain.
