#Eastercon (the UK's major SF con)'s #Covid policy was "recommending" vaccination and "encouraging" masking. Their Facebook group is full of people reporting positive test results, and lots of other people who aren't testing positive but are reporting "at least it's just a cold" symptoms (which, of course, doesn't mean it's _not_ Covid, as home tests are good for telling you when it is, but also give a lot of false negatives).
I know it wasn't popular with everyone, and I'm sure even many of those of us who supported or encouraged the @norwescon vax/mask policy would have preferred feeling safe without the mask policy in place. But so far, I've yet to see any concerns about Covid outbreaks from our weekend. (That doesn't mean there aren't any, to be clear. I'm not in the right reporting lines to know if anything has been sent in via email. But so far, I haven't seen anybody pop up publicly to say that they pinged positive. Fingers crossed that I'm not jumping the gun or jinxing anything by posting this.)
Once again, my thanks to the #nwc45 Exec team and our wider community for being so good about creating, supporting, and following our policies to keep our community safe this year.
