I have to say that I think the comms people of the Nova Scotia Government have done a good job on the wildfires. Not only have they used social media but more importantly they have put all the information they share on a webpage:

Accessible to all, contains the same information and is not subject to the fickleness of the algorithms that dictate what we see on social. They are posting on Bluesky.

Now they just need a fedi account and an RSS feed.

Better than relying on one to two platforms owned by evil billionaires or fascists.
