Last Evil is jank but competent as a Slay the Spire ripoff. Having lust as a second resource that persists between combats and can be traded for essence (gold) does make for some interesting decision making and is thematically on point.

Having customization tied to number of scenes found/unlocked is a perverse (heh) incentive though with how it encourages you to lose deliberately. It's neat that it has a lot of bespoke scenes for various scenarios (eg. different scenarios if you lose with one or both members of a miniboss still standing), but seeing them requires sub-optimal play.

Letting you surrender to avoid ending a run while getting bondage gear debuffs is a good mechanic I wish more was done with.

Also, it's quite silly how many death/loss animations end in ragdoll physics. Post-nut clarity for grunts hits like they're in Gary's Mod.
