#WritersCoffeeClub – 3rd Jun. Conversely, what sense is the most difficult for you to write?

Taste. I usually just say what they are eating, if it's good, and what it smells like. I should look at that.

Though I generally find food descriptions that get into "balance" and pairing repetitive.

#WritersCoffeeClub 2. What do you hope sticks with a reader long after?

That they enjoyed it and would like to read more of what I write.

#WritersCoffeeClub 5/31. What went right for you this month?

I've kept up. Which is pretty good given a vacation and how sick I have been.

I still tire easily, but am okay most days.

#writerscoffeeclub 5/30 What do you do when your stuck?

Walk the dog, sleep, write flash, etc and let my mind work through it at its own pace. It wanders down odd allies till it stumbled on something.

#WritersCoffeeClub 29/5: What (in terms of writing) do you fear?

It is not directly writing-related, but I fear my mind going. But it's def a writing-adjacent worry.

#WritersCoffeeClub – 28th May. Have you ever regretted cutting a scene?

No. If it is good, I move it or turn it into a side story.

#WritersCoffeeClub – 27th May. Do you read outside of the genre you write?

I read a lot in genre (yuri, time travel, urban fantasy), but also out of genre: classics, Isakia, YA romance, light horror, adventure, mystery, hard-boiled detective, etc. No high fantasy, though.

I am finishing up some BL and H.G. Wells stuff at the moment.

#WritersCoffeeClub 5/26. In what ways does your work defy expectation?

I don't try to defy expectations. Except perhaps the expectation that free web novels are crap. I am a decent if eccentric author.

#WritersCoffeeClub 5/25. Share a late-stage change you made to a work.

I write serials, how am I going to do that? Once it's out there, it's out there.

#WritersCoffeeClub – 22nd May. How well would your current WIP work as a play?

Not well

  • Characters are always on the move, so many set changes. Though something surreal might be used for a general set.
  • It is very much 1st person POV driven. That doesn't translate well to the stage.
  • Lots of bit players, with foreign names. Very confusing.

Streamline to a few scenes per volume, and it could be done, but the multilayered plot would be lost.
