#writerscoffeeclub 4 Past or present tense switching.
Only the normal narrative vs. dialog switch. Otherwise I have done it once to emphasize the alarm of a character. I am not sure it was worth it.

#writerscoffeeclub 3 have you studied writing?
I had a course in technical writing. I don't remember if it taught me anything.
#WritersCoffeeClub April 2: Visual presentation: how do white space and typography become meaningful elements of literary form?
There is the whole business of paragraph length, which affects flow.
Personally, I take it further and use white space for speciall effect. Indent poetry. Variable indent or even random spacing, example below:
Snip #TimeTravelingGhost
Blood pulsed in my ears
Heart pounded
Crashing
into the soldier’s
white hats
“Bijou, fly!” Her order cracked through the air.
I closed my eyes, spreading my arms.
Be a raven
Swooping for food.
On the porch
End snip
I don't do anything with typography except for the use of foreign alphabets.

#WritersCoffeeClub - 30 Mar. What got in the way of your writing this month?
For some reason, I am suddenly getting very droozy in the afternoon. If I push through it, I get stuff done, but if not, I sleep most of the day.
#writerscoffeeclub 03/29 Share a writing milestone.
Tuesday the conclusion of #KonbiniIdol will be published.
#WritersCoffeeClub Mar. 28: Do you ever sacrifice blunt clarity for prose that flows well?
No
I don't write blunt prose. I don't enjoy reading blunt prose unless it is a news article.
So the answer is, I do not sacrifice blunt prose, I just don't use it.
@pentup Surprise!
#wordweavers 25 What do you think about the last scene you wrote.
The dialog works, but the ending is weak. It should improve with revision.
#WritersCoffeeClub – 24th Mar Do you have a writerly "third place"?
I do most of my writing at home. But will write anywhere. The closest I come to a third place for writing is in the wilderness. This is highly limited because of the expense of keeping things powered up. Mostly, I just jot notes.
#WritersCoffeeClub – 23rd Mar. What's the most you've worked on a WIP before deciding to scrap it? What happened?
The first chapter of "Matsumoto's Curse" appeared on 26/04/21. The last chapter appeared on 20/02/22. Whereupon it was discontinued.
It is highly unlikely I would ever go back to it, though pieces have been cannibalized for later serials.
