18 years ago today, a shooting occurred near Cole Hall on NIU’s campus during the Spring 2008 semester. 5 students lost their lives in the shooting, including the perpetrator, who was an NIU graduate in 2006. Following the shooting, Cole Hall was renovated and a metal sculpture was unveiled during the Fall 2009 semester.
