On my way back ...

I think, such a retreat / hackathon is needed more often. Particularly in my home country, Germany. The RSE landscape is shifting, becomes more divers and flourishes. Still, compared to our colleagues in the Netherlands, I dare say, such retreat/hackathons are really needed everywhere (my fellow Germans and me are just more and less active as a community). So, kudos to @meliimming and others for organizing and inviting me!

We just had 3 days. And I learned A LOT. Just need to sort things a bit into my mental buckets for technical issues, teaching, organizing, potential grant applications ...

Also, for just three days it is a long distance by train. And still worth leaving the daily rat race for a while! This should not be undervalued: A lot of colleagues are working on the edge of burnout, incl. me sometimes.

@rupdecat we can add some more semantics here, e.g. using @bioregistry and schema.org's mainEntity. My suggestions in red

@rupdecat nice! Maybe I should ignore my injury and join the #NESColLab walk tomorrow morning

I'm not so much a people photo poster, but here is a nice impression from the dunes at Schoorl, #NESColLab .

Just had a wonderful discussion about Dutch linguistics!

What do you know? Unexpected elements and nice people everywhere. Joy of travels.

First day at the #NESColLab comes to a conclusion (work-wise at least). I have a half-working solution .... and will keep the suspense until a first release is ready. 😉
