Burn social media companies, and their CEOs to the ground... but the #NBI just seems like a shakedown. If a search engine chooses not to index an Australian news site, why would they be expected to support that site financially with a special tax?

Is it just a tax on "being a social media company"?

The arguments in favour of it seem very structurally similar to blockchain & crypto arguments where you can't figure out if you've missed something important, or it's actually THAT stupid.
