Shadow Libraries put users and institutions at risk in the way they provision their collections, but IF THE PUBLISHING INDUSTRY WASN’T TERRIBLY BROKEN THEY WOULDN’T BE HIGHLY USED AND NEEDED. Not only is their access more equitable but usually their search capability is much more user-friendly. Fix the underlying problem or security incursions to enable equitable access will not go away!
