Isn’t there a way to build in that could possibly clean the solar panels in these cases? Mechanical or maybe a blow of air? I understand it is yet one thing that could go wrong, but if you get 6-12 more months or something like that, wouldn’t it be worth it? #insight #nasa #nasainsight https://www.theverge.com/2022/12/21/23521050/nasa-insight-mars-lander-marsquake
NASA’s InSight lander loses power, enters retirement on Mars

NASA’s InSight lander has not been in contact with Earth since December 15th. It has likely run out of power on the surface of Mars, ending its mission to study the interior of the red planet.

I’m sad the #marslander said goodbye today #nasainsight - I guess he never got to experience the exodus to here. when I go out, some people should expect an odd delivery and maybe a skywriter saying something surprising. https://www.cnet.com/google-amp/news/nasas-insight-mars-lander-is-dying-this-may-be-its-last-image/

"My power’s really low, so this may be the last image I can send. Don’t worry about me though: my time here has been both productive and serene. If I can keep talking to my mission team, I will – but I’ll be signing off here soon. Thanks for staying with me." - #NASAInSight

Must. Not. Anthropomorphize the #Space rovers. 😭 I just watched "Goodnight Oppy" recently, too. https://kotaku.com/nasa-insight-rover-mars-sad-tweet-rip-goodbye-esa-1849913028
