Now that Apple is killing #MyPhotoStream, I’m glad that #nextcloud provides a mechanism to automatically upload my photos to the server. I’m enabling this on all devices!
#Apple shutting down #MyPhotoStream: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT210705 -- annoyed about this because I liked having an album of the last 30 days of photos across devices that didn't eat up my free 5GB storage. Free ride over, I guess, gotta use iCloud Photos, which takes up more of your remote storage space so you need to pay.

Apple: "We're shutting down My Photo Stream on July 26th and we won't sync your photos to other devices starting June 26th. We won't tell you about any alternative free methods on how to sync your photos or transfer them to your Mac so they can be backed up. No. We want you to subscribe to iClown Photos. You all know how unreliable our cloud syncing is but we don't care. We need more money to fuel Tim Cook's bonuses. You're welcome."

The company also announced that uploads using My Photo Stream will stop one month before, on June 26, 2023.”
