Does anyone else here miss MyPaint for its simpler, more straightforward gui? Especially on tablets, it just fits better on the screen for making "casual" digital art. Sure, it is not as good as Krita for pro level work, but for those of us that just want something easy to use with no "learning curve" it was sweet. Sadly it seems the last few years the 2.x version just crashes out as soon as a stylus touches the screen. Would love it someone made a fork that actually worked with current distros.
In manga drawing class we're practising how to draw armours and weapons. Yes, the main topic these weeks is fantasy! 😀
Last time we drew swords and daggers. We were tasked to copy them from photos. I didn't see much use in that task, but took part anyway.
I might draw myself a collection of blades, handles, etc and randomly shuffle them.
I would like to know more, because understanding anything before drawing it helps immensely. The best drawing books I have are these that explain a lot.
Anyhow here's the sketch I talked about:

🙂 There's almost finished image of Elowren and a scroll. I drew it yesterday evening. It took some time/effort, but I'm mostly happy with the result, but still not 100%, so I guess I'll ask for advice in tomorrows drawing class.
