The new music of 2024 is fine and I'm sure the performers are all very talented, but I prefer the groundbreaking stuff from 2023, like The Beatles (sic) single "Now and Then" or fresh new albums like "Hackney Diamonds" from some group known only as The Rolling Stones, or "Before and After" from a solo artist called Neil Young, who I believe hails from Canada. #MyFavMusic2024

To cheat a little bit on #TuneTuesday, I decided to make #myfavmusic2024 a playlist from Lofi Girl. Relaxing synthwave has been a real game changer for when I’m coding, writing, walking, or anything. Currently listening to the playlist now as I post this.

Oh right, #tunetuesday

I give you Sad Night Dynamite - Wake Up, Pass Out. An excellent unique band in general, they have a high like to meh ratio for me across their songs.

They were even praised at some point by Damon Albarn. Wild.

This song is psychedelic and hits the brain meat in a good way.

For this week's #tuneTuesday, @kitty asks about #MyFavMusic2024

I think They Might Be Giants cover of Cole Porter’s "Lazy" fits me perfectly—because who has the energy to write a new song when there’s a 100-year-old one lying around?

It doesn't say just one record! So I'm gonna split it between Sleepytime Gorilla Museum:

"...about sharing your favourite music released in 2024 🎶

Feel free to share songs, EPs or whole albums, whatever works best for you 🎵"

I have a mega ranked list coming soon of my favourite albums of the year, so for now I'll just promote one of my recently discovered favourites that will rank very highly:

"Young-Girl Forever" by Sofie Royer

https://sofieroyer.bandcamp.com/album/young-girl-forever

(On streaming platforms too)

It's this eclectic English/French/German electronic alternative pop project with a 1970s and 1980s flare that gripped me on my very first listen, and I can't stop replaying it.

Current three favourite songs:
1. I Forget (I'm So Young)
2. Sage Comme Une Image
3. Lights out baby, entropy!
