My grandfather was diagnosed with dementia some time ago. Over the past few weeks, his condition has continued to deteriorate. Since he refuses to accept help and, according to the police and emergency responders, he poses no danger to himself or others, we want to at least do something to help him. Currently, he sleeps with my grandmother on a very low bed, which he has been having increasing difficulty getting out of lately. We wanted to buy him a nursing bed, but unfortunately we can’t afford it. The care assessment process is already underway, but unfortunately it takes an extremely long time. Since this is the first case of dementia in our family, we are completely overwhelmed. We appreciate any help. I’ll update this post from time to time and keep you posted. mein Opa wurde vor einiger Zeit mit Demenz diagnostiziert. In den letzten Wochen ist sein Zustand immer weiter verschlechtert. Da er sich selbst nicht helfen lassen will und laut Polizei und Rettungskräften keine Eigen- oder Fremdgefährdung vorliegt, wollen wir ihm zumindest etwas helfen. Aktuell schläft er zusammen mit meiner Oma auf einem sehr „tief” gelegenen Bett, aus dem er in letzter Zeit immer schlechter herauskommt. Wir wollten ihm nun ein Pflegebett kaufen, können uns das aber leider nicht leisten. Der Pflegegrad usw. ist bereits in Arbeit, aber das braucht leider extrem viel Zeit. Da es der erste Fall von Demenz in unserer Familie ist, sind wir maßlos überfordert. Wir freuen uns über jede Hilfe. Ich werde diesen Beitrag von Zeit zu Zeit aktualisieren und euch auf dem Laufenden halten. Danke an alle, die uns unterstützen und diesen Beitrag teilen. 🥲

I've only got $60 CAD in my chequing right now & am in a lot of debt
I'm ~$2000 in credit debt and just got a letter from my bank saying they might freeze my finances if I don't pay the $80 minimum
I owe a friend close to $1.5k now for generously fronting food and housing related bills
I'm also missing $80 to be able to do a friend's wedding, as well as being generally in need of money for groceries and other life expenses
I'm not trying to raise All Of That right now, but if I can cover the minimum for my bank + get maybe ~$40 dollars I'll at least be able to cover food and essentials, & anything else will go to my various debts

Not being accountable to resources IS the downfall of humanity. I have never had a question or bout of loneliness so deep that I am willing to turn to chatgpt and away from the resources that we depend on for ACTUAL life: water, air, land.
The people who continue to push Capitalism as "the way" are actively going against what is best for people and planet. There is NO ethical consumption under #capitalism We MUST return to reciprocal, nurturing relationships with the land and each other, as indigenous cultures have for generations. #mutualaide #offgrid #generalstrike #conservation #permaculture #solarpunk #community
