A-Z Of Rock: F Part 2

Welcome to our weekly alphabet themed rock post! In this post we will talk about a specific letter of the alphabet and associate it with all things rock music!

This will include a band with that letter, a song as well as a rocker. There is an accompanying playlist so that the selected songs can be enjoyed! Click the Spotify link below and remember to save it!

Band

Foo Fighters might be an offshoot of Nirvana but I think one could argue that they have now surpassed them! The Pretender has always been my favourite song by them for the raw speed and emotion in which it is played. Dave Grohl et al might be a wounded animal still since their drummer sadly passed away, but if their new songs are anything to go by. They intend on biting back!

Song

Some of you wont know Badflower! Give my review of their gig a read and all will become apparently. However this song is a raw account of someone and their families relationship. When it’s boiled down to that the lyrics become impactful as well as shocking.

Rocker

This dude released over 60 studio albums! That is a work ethic right there… Musically tremendous too and his music often reaches my ear holes. Here’s one such example to enjoy!

This ten-song cycle has a jaunty lilt to the rhythms that ebb & flow in thrall to his unfurling imagination... a classy esoteric selection that finds the group in excellent form and still adding quality to The Monochrome Set legacy @[email protected] #musicreview freq.org.uk/reviews/the-...

"The interplay between Rachel and David's vocals is an enjoyable thing, very much rooted in the kind of shambling #indie sound of the '80s but updated to reflect the passing of time" Comet Gain's City Fallen Leaves re-released by @[email protected] #musicreview freq.org.uk/reviews/come...

Comet Gain – City Fallen Leaveshttps://freq.org.uk/reviews/comet-gain-city-fallen-leaves/ Although the band had bedded in by now, the songs and direction were very much David's responsibility and across the sixteen delightfully ramshackle tracks collected here, his bedsit romanticism and rainy seaside melancholy rub shoulders with punkish disdain and a fleeting sense of desperate alienation. #musicreview
