43 years ago today, March 26, 1983, Michael Murphey debuted at #75 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart with “Love Affairs”. It went on to peak at #11 and spent a total of 17 weeks on the chart.
It’s been my hobby to collect 45 RPM singles. Listening to “American Country Countdown” with Bob Kingsley way back then somehow made the songs of that era even more special to me.

I remember seeing the video of this song and liking his voice. Shortly thereafter, I went to my favorite record store to buy it and gladly added it to my treasured music collection all those years ago.

Happy 70th Birthday to Charlotte Denice "Charly" McClain wherever and whatever she's doing these days. Her music was the soundtrack of my childhood, pre-teen years and throughout the years to now.
