Tinariwen. The word means "desert people" in Tamasheq, a language of the Tuareg people. The Tuareg are nomadic people, a minority group, spread across Saharan north Africa.

Tinariwen is also the name of a group, or rather a shifting collective of musicians, founded in 1979. And they are outstanding! In 2012, their album Tassili won a Grammy. They are still touring the world.

Ok, that was too cool. Here's another favorite tune of mine that I ripped from a CD at the local library. Have never been able to find this particular version since.
Album is The Wild Mountain Thyme: Revels Songs for Spring, Summer & Autumn, the song is Harvest Hymn. It is a regular ray of sunshine :)
