Paid for pro Musicolet features, that's how much I love that app. I rarely pay for pro features for anything, so when I do, it means I'm really using the hell out of the service. It was only $15 for lifetime access- a deal they have going on right now. So if you like Musicolet and want pro features, that's a crazy good deal. Had to jump.

I tested 5 open-source music players and this is the only one I kept

Echo is the only open-source music player I'll use, because it beautifully handles both on-device files and streaming service in a single app.

So, are there any good Android music players out there that can read and write .m3u playlists?

It'd be cool to be able to share playlists across my devices using a standard format

Does anyone know of an android music app that can play tracks downloaded to a folder but doesn't auto play the next track when the current one finishes?

I have to play some music at an event via a Bluetooth speaker and the apps I can find all jump to the next track automatically, but I need to be able to play them individually.

DeaDBeeF 1.10 Release Brings New Features

A new version of DeaDBeeF music player is out, bringing some cool features, FFmpeg 7 support, and a flurry of bug fixes to long-time fans. The popularity of traditional desktop music player apps has dipped considerably since the arrival of music streaming services like Spotify, which give users on-demand (and often free) access to a far larger catalogue of artists, albums and releases. Still, many people (myself included) have libraries filled with MP3 and other audio files, and do enjoy listening them. What are the best #macos #opensource gui #musicplayers? My wife's apple music thingy decided to go into a death spiral of weird errors, and I can't find a way to undo it. And I anyway despise the idea of a music app that won't just keep connecting to the cloud when all you want to do is play back local files. #askfedi
