Saw a post yesterday about how music CDs are the new vinyl -- something to be sought and collected and treasured. So today at the Friends sale outside the Main Library, I picked out this album, which is, ironically, all about finding rare albums on vinyl in second-hand stores and recording new covers of them.
As for east bay music stores: if that Rasputin's was in #Hayward, they closed it years ago and is now a grocery store again. Which sucks, because their death metal selection was amazing.
There is a Half Price books in #Fremont and over in #Dublin that I try to hit once a month. Any of this chain store can be a hit or miss, but these two tend to have interesting clearance items (video games, #books, CDs, and #DVDs).
Of course up in #Berkeley is #Amoeba, #Rasputin's, and a Half Price Books. IIRC I have been there only once since moving to NorCal. I have heard good things about Hercules records and

Down in south bay there is a #Streetlight and a large Rasputin's in the #Campbell area.
did like in the old days, also redid the booklets and under-cd decoration if applicable, wanted them to be cool!
