In December 2023, #Russians brought over 3 million #Russian-language books to the temporarily occupied territories. After the annexation of #Crimea, they compiled a list of banned books and confiscated them. Among them were even postcards and song lyrics in #Ukrainian.
This began as far back as the 17th century, under #Muscovy. In 1677, the #Moscow Patriarch ordered all pages in #Ukrainian books that differed from #Moscowβs to be removed.

@hanse_mina Imagine a world where the orcish brutes never reached the Baltic Sea at the turn of 18th century, never occupied the ancient Estonian and Fennic lands there, thus never learned about *muskets* which soon enabled the orcs to raze through Central Asia all the way across the continent...
HIstory is weird and often sad. The orcs can for their own internal propaganda rename Europe -> Schmeurope for all I care.
What matters is how we resist this shit from spreading further. And maybe, just maybe, figure out ways to reverse the shitty trends.
