Today was Meall Corranaich & Meall a’Choire Leith - two outliers of the Ben Lawers group - this time with friends, so that was more fun! Bit of bog and rain, but not too bad - didn’t put my waterproofs on in the end

Club members walked from Glen Isla over the #Monega path to #Munro Glas Maol last Sunday (19th April). A mostly sunny day but still with a bitterly cold westerly wind (windchill well below 0C).
Still extensive snow patches, especially on the west and north flanks of Glas Maol.
Coach awaited us at the #Glenshee ski centre (use of the coach makes these through walks possible).

Photo of western slopes of Glas Maol showing the snow fields and cornices (photo Richard Townsend).

Trip up Meall Na Fearna #corbett south of Loch Earn next to Ben Vorlich #munro saw no one on my route, most people were heading up the Munro. Quite a bit of bog at the bealach but could have been worse. Gorgeous day, blue sky & almost summer like warmth. #scotland #hills #hillwalking 🥾
A bit of a close up of Ben Alder #munro from the Carn Na Caim plateau. With the short & long leachas ridges in relief. #hills #scotland #winter #hillwalking
Very clear air today as well. This is a picture of distant Ben Lomond from the summit of Innerdownie hill. Even with rubbish phone camera it makes a striking image .....I think 😳 #munro #scotland #hills #winter
We were treated to beautiful cloud inversion when climbing Ben Nevis yesterday #Inversion #Cloud #BenNevis #1345m #Munro #Scotland #Nature #NaturePhotography #Landscape #LandscapePhotography

An Teallach from the other day.

Still haven't climbed it, maybe next spring. I wouldn’t go over the Corrag Bhuidhe pinnacles as I'd have Skye with me.

A classic view of Slioch yesterday taken down the length of Loch Maree from the Slatterdale picnic area.

This side looks like a castle to me but its name derives from the Gaelic for spear. Which is much more obvious from the shore of Lochan Fada to the north east.

Climbing #BenLawers (for the 2nd time! The views are really worth it)
