Walked over to my local library to return a very good book, Kory Stamper's True Color, and place my ballot into the secure drop box* on the counter. I could have also just used the outside Book Return slot for both but that's more work for the staff.

Today, I helped present to the Multnomah County Commissioners an annual update for our new library construction and remodel projects. I sit on the Library Bond Oversight Committee and this was our FY25 annual report.

I covered DEI, mainly in the trade workers that are building our libraries. I was happy to report on progress bringing diversity into our skilled workforce.

Although total homeless deaths have decreased since 2023, the number of people who died in 2024 is still higher than any previous year recorded by the county. At the same time, the number of people experiencing homelessness in Multnomah County is at record levels. County and city investments in programs to address homelessness have also skyrocketed.
