So I am thinking if all goes well with the home-based instance, I might make that one. @chris my ‘personal/home/geek/tech’ account and this one my social media activism yell-at-and-fix-the-world account.

We’ll see. The double-presence feels luxurious in a way.

Is it allowable to have more than one account, for different purposes, active at the same time?

I've been trying to look this up but don't know what to search for to find relevant results. I don't want to change instances, I'm happy where I am. I anticipate problems when more of my RL friends/fam move from the bird app and either I have to lie and say I'm not interested in following them any more or else be horribly anxious about privacy.

It's my habit to keep interaction with online friends separate to offline peeps because of boundaries.

For those who use apps like #Tweetdeck for multiple accounts, I found a cool way to do something similar with #Mastodon. Download #WebCatalog https://webcatalog.io/, install the Mastodon space, and set up as many subspaces therein (in settings) as you have accounts. You have to set the URL properly for each. Bit fiddly, but works a treat once set up

Is there a way to switch between accounts on the same Instance?

I have other instances on tabs and logged in for some accounts but I also have other accounts here on .Social.
Can I switch to the other .Social accounts without logging out?

One of the limits of #Mastodon's #WebInterface is, it doesn't support #MultipleAccounts. This means logging out and back in again to switch profiles - a pain, as I've now got three profiles with 2FA.

A workround (something I wish I'd thought of sooner) is, use different instances for different profiles. As they're different servers, login is independent and doesn't conflict.

It may be an opportunity to try moving from one instance to another - might test with my @BasicallyBenGB account.
