The #US #empire, or #hegemony, has long been in decline, or rather undergoing a metamorphosis. What is arising is an empire of stateless #MultinationalCorporations, many of whom rose to prominence on the back of the US #economy but few of whom are now confined to its shores. They can still be reined in, but it will require the cooperation of all the world's large economies, especially the #EU and #China.

Australia's toll road economy is unsustainable. Earlier this year, ex-#ACCC chairman Allan Fels and transport expert David Cousins released a report claiming Transurban is exploiting #Sydney motorists, urging the #NSW government to take over toll roads.
