Hi, I’m Sabi Lewis (@SabiLewSounds on most platforms) and I am a disabled/ chronically ill artist who is the primary caretaker for my elder mother who is also disabled and struggling with dementia. Like so many other people we were living one crisis away from the edge. Our crisis came in Summer 2023 when I lost my main source of income and our housing became unstable. Since then my mother and I have been living in emergency housing paying for a hotel one week at a time. At a rate 3X times than our previous rent.
