Draft agenda for today's #Wikibase user group meeting at 15:00 UTC (16:00 London, 17:00 Berlin, 11:00 US Eastern): https://etherpad.wikimedia.org/p/WBUG_2024_06_27

This week we'll be discussing the Wikimedia #MovementCharter and try to decide whether to ratify it. We must vote by July 9, and sooner makes it easier to decide on comments. Join us at https://meet.jit.si/WikibaseLiveSession to have your say as a member of the user group.

There'll also be a surprise demo. What's it about? It's a surprise here, too; we'll just have to see!

'Do we have any idea of what the voting outcome on the Movement Charter might be? Were there temperature checks done?'

- We have 114.000 eligible voters movement wide. We've heard from many people in the consultations in the past 2,5 years, but the result of the upcoming ratification vote will be a surprise even for the MCDC. 😀

The polls open Tuesday, 25 June, midnight UTC!

So happy that the final version of the #MovementCharter is now up on Meta for everyone to read. More languages and updates to the supplementary documents are still to come; the voting period is 25 June - 9 July. #Wikimedia #Wikipedia

The last 72 hours have been crazy, but the #MovementCharter is sent to the copy-editor for the readability review. Next week: legal review.
I think I'm going to sleep for 24 hours now. 😴
I love how the MCDC's "good enough is perfect" was adopted by the participants during the Berlin Summit.

'You have done a reasonable decent job.' Why thank you: we have been striving towards 'good enough' so that sounds about right. 🙃 #MovementCharter #firstreviewersfeedback
