Crisp, clear days can provide idyllic winter walking scenes. But #hillwalking in #Scotland during the winter is a serious undertaking.

How to stay safe hillwalking in winter - Here. Now. All of us.

Day out in Glen #Strathfarrar, great place to wander without feeling the need to go up some hills (there are two fantastic groups of #Munros, but not today).
Absolutely no signs of flooding - realised it's because the #LochMonar dam protects the top of the glen, and all the side streams have water captured and transferred to the reservoir. So very little gets into the glen itself.
Thanks as usual to #MountaineeringScotland for negotiating vehicle access to the private road.

Using GPS or smart phones for navigation in the mountains has limitations as well as advantages. Advice from Mountaineering Scotland on when to use electronic devices and what's available.

G’day! I haven’t properly introduced myself on here so I’d better rectify it. I’m an Aussie who’s lived in the UK since 2006. Home is #Edinburgh and my heart’s there and in #Brisbane where I grew up. I’m a company secretary and lawyer by day and a #MountaineeringScotland Director by night and on the hills. I can be found bagging #Corbetts, #Fionas and #Donalds and dipping my toes back into #Munros on occasion. I ❤️ poetry, books, cats, black humour, hiking and travelling. Say hi!
