Currently planning hiking and snow shoe tours to guide students this autumn and winter. Planning is always lots of work but I am also looking forward to some nice and funny days with them in the mountains. 😃
Things are packed, mountains are calling. 🏔️
Starting a 4-day hike from hut to hut around Muveran tomorrow. 🤩 It's part of my mountain leader course – so next to enjoying the landscape, lots of distance km and elevation meters, I also had an intense preparation before and am going to lead the group part wise (with probably some challenges added by our mountain guide, who's observing how we're handling the job).
See you next week 👋🏔️

I'm a #MountainLeader based in #Aviemore, in the #Cairngorms National Park in #Scotland. Been retired from guiding for 5 years, so get out in the hills just for fun now.
Live with my husband Michael and our dog Moray, a 14yo Australian #Kelpie who loves exploring the hills on days and overnights with me.
New Scot. Enjoying duolingo. Tha beagam #Gàidhlig agam.
Researching my #FamilyHistory.

Keeping my CPD (Continuing Professional Development) up to date even though I've retired.
Stormy up high, so a day in and around Coire an t-Sneachda looking at upland plants: identification, edible berries, folklore, plus traditional uses for medicine, husbandry, dyeing, or making rope. It's always great seeing this familiar area from another point of view. And we finished with some juice and oatcakes with jams made from some of our berries.
Mission: Lorna's Corbetts. Yesterday I helped Lorna tick off Cir Mhor and Caisteal Abhail. This is a big day by anyone's standards, and Lorna needed to do it between boats. No problem! A great effort, (Lorna has already done her Munros so she's no slouch!), the rain held off, and also nice to be joined by Emily, aspirant ML, and my Mountain Training mentee, who was shadowing the day.
