After the Passover service on the summit of Mount Gerizim (above Nablus/ Palestine, West Bank), the Samaritans return to their temporary houses (for the festival period) on a lower part of Mount Gerizim (the "Mountain of Blessing"). In the valley is the city of Nablus (Shchem) and opposite is Mount Ebal (the "Mountain of the Curse" - Deut. 11:29).
