We headed out for a bunch of little hikes among the peaks of the Lassics, which tend to feature in the minds of the outdoorsy locals because they can be seen from so many places.

I struggled along what was once a good road to a removed fire lookout. This was the Mount Lassic Lookout, but it was actually on the side of Goat Hill with a view of Mount Lassic. Blog post here: https://valhikes.blogspot.com/2023/06/mount-lassic-lookout-and-goat-hill.html

Yes, I am about a month late in advertising this one...

Mount Lassic Lookout and Goat Hill

Six Rivers National Forest. Up a forgotten road to a removed fire lookout, then on to the peak. (Not all lookouts are at peaks.)

One road open, one not, but getting to these seasonal ponds was a mix of #hike and thrash with a surprising number of violets found along the way.

Dry Lake and Not-A Lake

Six Rivers National Forest. Short, but hard, hike to see a pair of lakes at the southern end of Mount Lassic Wilderness.

A hike in search of #wildflowers, so I may have gone a little overboard showing them. However, I was looking for one specific flower and none of them are it! The search comes with a nice peak.

Mount Lassic

Six Rivers National Forest. Hiking the most common, and only, hike in Mount Lassic Wilderness, up Mount Lassic. Lots of flowers.
