Intervento di soccorso nel tardo pomeriggio di martedì sul versante nord dell’Etna, dove un escursionista di 60 anni, residente in provincia di Enna, è rimasto ferito durante un’escursione sul Monte Nero.
La richiesta di aiuto è stata inoltrata direttamente al Corpo Nazionale Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico (CNSAS) tramite GeoResQ, il sistema di geolocalizzazione e richiesta di soccorso dedicato agli escursionisti e a chi frequenta ambienti montani e impervi. Grazie all’applicazione, la centrale operativa ha ricevuto immediatamente le coordinate esatte del luogo dell’incidente e le informazioni necessarie per organizzare l’intervento.
Ricevuta la segnalazione, il Servizio Regionale Sicilia del CNSAS ha attivato una squadra di tecnici del Soccorso Alpino partita da Linguaglossa, supportata dal personale del Soccorso Alpino della Guardia di Finanza. I soccorritori hanno raggiunto l’uomo via terra sul versante occidentale del Monte Nero.
Dopo una prima valutazione sanitaria, è stato accertato che l’escursionista aveva riportato un importante trauma all’arto inferiore destro. L’uomo è stato quindi immobilizzato, sistemato su una barella e trasportato a valle fino al Rifugio Ragabo, dove ad attenderlo c’era un’ambulanza del 118, attivata dal Soccorso Alpino, che lo ha successivamente trasferito all’ospedale di Giarre per le cure del caso.
L’intervento si è concluso con successo e rappresenta un’ulteriore conferma dell’efficacia del sistema GeoResQ, strumento sempre più prezioso per garantire tempestività e precisione nelle operazioni di soccorso in montagna e nelle aree più difficili da raggiungere.

Rescue operation in the late afternoon on Tuesday on the north flank of Mount Etna, where a 60-year-old hiker, resident in the province of Enna, was injured during a hike on Monte Nero.
The request for help was directly forwarded to the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps (CNSAS) via GeoResQ, the geolocation and rescue request system dedicated to hikers and those who frequent mountainous and rugged environments. Thanks to the app, the operational center immediately received the exact coordinates of the accident site and the necessary information to organize the intervention.
Upon receiving the report, the Sicily Regional Service of CNSAS activated a team of Alpine Rescue technicians departing from Linguaglossa, supported by personnel from the Guardia di Finanza (Finance Guard) Alpine Rescue. The rescuers reached the man on foot along the western slope of Monte Nero.
After a preliminary medical assessment, it was ascertained that the hiker had sustained a serious injury to his right lower leg. The man was then immobilized, placed on a stretcher, and transported downhill to the Ragabo Refuge, where an 118 ambulance, activated by Alpine Rescue, was waiting to transfer him to the hospital in Giarré for treatment.
The operation concluded successfully and represents further confirmation of the effectiveness of the GeoResQ system, a increasingly valuable tool for ensuring timeliness and precision in rescue operations in the mountains and in the most difficult-to-reach areas.
