#Police have #shot dead #fugitive #gunman #DeziFreeman at a property in #Victoria's north-east shortly after 8.30 this morning.

Freeman has been wanted since August over the fatal shooting of two police officers at Porepunkah.

The 56-year-old self-proclaimed "sovereign citizen" fled into bushland at #MountBuffalo #NationalPark.

Detective Leading Senior Constable #NealThompson & Senior Constable #VadimDeWaart were #killed in the shooting. #auspol

Victoria isn't particularly known for #aurora, but with the sun being at its solar maximum it's a great time to keep an eye on the night sky.

Despite spending about 9 weeks in Iceland and Norway (during late autumn/winter) the past 18 months, two of the best Auroras I've ever seen have been right here where you normally never see them. Fingers crossed for some more soon!

Given the size of the Australian Alps we actually get quite a lot of snow, although with climate change the amount of snow and how long it settles has changed drastically over the years. But it's always a time of year I look forward to photographing.
