Mount Bauple is a scientific national park in the “Fraser Coast” Region, “Queensland”, so-called #Australia, 190 km north of #Meanjin aka #Brisbane #Brizneyland #Brizvegas.

#MountBauple shares its name with the bauple or bopple nut, the local name for the nut from the commercial nut tree #Macadamia integrifolia; both the nut and mountain in turn come from Baphal, the Dreamtime caretaker from the #firstnations #Budjilla people.

Australian Macadamias

Walter Hill (and minions?) cultivated the first #Macadamiaintergrifolia in the “Brisbane”#BotanicalGardens, in 1858. It is still alive and bearing fruit today.

The Hawaiian Story: importation of seed was between 1881 and 1885 by William H. Purvis. Planted at #Kukuihaele in the #Hamakua district on the Island of #Hawaii. These seeds came from between #Gympie and #MountBauple
