Something the "Ippon" again! anime does well is making the main characters relatable. We don't have a protagonist who's a prodigy and can do everything. Every character has strengths and weaknesses.
Something I would have liked from "Ippon" again! is if it actually explained judo a bit more. None of the techniques were explained, and we have to infer the rules ourselves.
"Ippon" again! is a sports anime about a high school girls' judo club. It's not a cute girls doing cute things kind of sports anime. It's a real sports anime with a female cast.
