Knocking out those shelves was a bunch of work, and now, a little reward.

This is a PHENOMENAL sounding pressing of this, but unfortunately, there’s a few tracks that have been omitted for time. The only one I care about that’s not here is “Gentle Groove”.
Other than that minor bummer, this sounds like a borderline audiophile pressing.

This’ll tide me over just fine until I can find either an OG press, or the 2xLP version that MOV put out.

Today in 1992, a compilation of Mother Love Bone's first EP and album, Shine and Apple, was released to take advantage of the popularity of grunge (and Pearl Jam). After lead singer Andrew Wood's death from a heroin overdose right before their first album was released, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament of Mother Love Bone would go on to found Pearl Jam. And the rest was history.

I actually learned of Mother Love Bone prior to Pearl Jam - I subscribed to a zine from Seattle and I had a friend who worked at a music store who gave me a copy.

This Friday, both Shine and Apple will be reissued on vinyl for the first time. I already have my pre-order in.
