It's 100 years today since Ernie Wise was born.

Half of Morecambe & Wise, the legendary comedy double act. Legendary in the UK at any rate.

Sadly, they're both long gone from this world - Eric in 1984, Ernie in 1999.

Eric’s centenary is this coming May.

And they might never have been – Ernie came close to ending the partnership in 1950.

Eric Morecambe was my childhood hero. I was devastated when he died.
