I'm carving a dalahäst, so it seems I've finally arrived in my gubbe era. Still a beginner but going for two ears with this one.

A dalahäst is a traditional carved wooden horse from Dalarna, Sweden. I bet you've seen them around, painted with flowers ;)

My first ever attempt at "try-stick", used to practice various notches. I guess I should have used other wood than pine but whatever.

#Morakniv Garberg was pleasant to use, happy I didn't cut my fingers off with this beast 😅 .

Birch wood spirit. Branch was a bit dry and tough, and I've been out of action so my hands are feeling weaker than they were when I was doing one of these a day, but it came out really nice.

Over the bank holiday I had a sale out of the blue and had to rummage for hours to find this blackthorn spirit, then clean up and re-oil back to a respectable state. I always liked this one, cracks and all.
