The AI chatbot ChatGPT experienced a decline in monthly traffic and unique visitors in June, according to analytics firm Similarweb. Desktop and mobile traffic to the website decreased by 9.7% and unique visitors dropped 5.7%. The amount of time spent on the website also decreased by 8.5%. OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, did not comment on the decline. The slowdown in growth may help control the high costs of running the service, which requires intensive computing power. ChatGPT reached 100 million monthly active users in January and has over 1.5 billion monthly visits.
