Driving around West Virginia yesterday we saw lots of white and yellow wildflowers making the roadsides enjoyable. Yesterday we woke up at Seneca Shadows Campground after a great 12-hour sleep in the tent and hiked up Seneca Rocks. I appreciate rocks, so it was a bit disappointing for the trail to end at a deck with valley views but not rock views. On the way down, there was one small section with this odd seed pod.I was guessing walnut, but it was the American chestnut.
