I think I'd call this defamatory development, adding as it does to the desecration in his name of the desert he so obviously loved. Still, I suspect Ed Abbey would have no trouble ripping these guys a new one in innovative ways, and take great joy in doing it were he still alive. He did it in print with many of their ilk.

If California wins its lawsuits against the oil companies, wouldn't that suggest that their products are innately dangerous and that they lied about those dangers, and that any action taken to prevent future oil exploration is not only justifiable but critically necessary if only for reasons of self-defense?
