Just discovered The New Legends of Monkey last night. I'm an old school Monkey Magic fan, so I couldn't help but give it a go. It's entertaining in a b-grade kind of way, just like the original I guess ;) But the relentless cultural mashup keeps pulling me out of the story. It's made in Australia, at least half the cast seem to be Māori, or have strong UK accents. The storytelling and visual aesthetics are a weird mix of Asia, Middle East, and Middle Earth.
