Il corpo di Giorgia Sommacal è stato recuperato ieri, insieme a quello della ricercatrice Muriel Oddenino, al termine delle difficili operazioni nelle grotte sommerse dell’atollo di Vaavu, alle Maldive, dove giovedì scorso hanno perso la vita cinque sub italiani durante un’immersione. E Carlo Sommacal, padre della 23enne, morta in quelle grotte insieme alla madre Monica Montefalcone, docente del dipartimento di Scienze della Terra dell’Università di Genova e moglie di Carlo, al Corriere ha provato a raccontare il dolore di queste ore: “Stamattina mi ha chiamato la Farnesina: hanno recuperato anche il corpo della mia Giorgia. Adesso le hanno ritrovate entrambe. Ma io continuo a parlarne al presente, perché ancora non riesco a realizzare che non ci siano più”.
Quello che spera Carlo Sommacal è di evitare il riconoscimento diretto dei corpi: “Ho paura di non avere la forza. Temo che mi possa venire un infarto davanti a loro e che Matteo (il figlio minore, ndr) possa restare solo al mondo”. Per questo ha inviato fotografie e indicato dettagli utili all’identificazione: “Ho mandato le foto di Giorgia, ho fornito alcuni suoi particolari fisici. Lo ha ucciso colpendolo con la cornice di un quadro e un’asta appendiabiti: è stata arrestata con l’accusa di omicidio Monica Belciug, cittadina romena di 36 anni, che lo scorso 28 aprile ha provocato la morte del compagno 60enne Alberto Pacetti, ucciso in un appartamento di via Angelo Fava nel quartiere Primavalle di Roma.
Sono stati i violenti colpi inferti al capo con i due oggetti a far morire Pacetti, trasportato d’urgenza al pronto soccorso del Policlinico Gemelli dove è deceduto subito dopo il ricovero. Secondo le indagini – coordinate dal sostituto procuratore Antonio Di Cicco – e dalle dichiarazioni dei testimoni, “lui era succube di Monica”.
I vicini di casa hanno riferito agli investigatori di vivere da tempo in un clima di paura: nell’ordinanza di 11 pagine, è scritto che Monica Belciug si è vantata di avere legami con i clan Spada e Casamonica. Inoltre alcuni condomini hanno riferito di aver sentito, intorno alle 23 del 26 aprile, delle urla provenienti dall’appartamento della coppia e rumori riconducibili a colpi violenti contro il muro.
La donna ha giustificato il tutto con un episodio di ubriachezza: il compagno, in stato d’ebbrezza, era caduto battendo la testa accidentalmente. Questa versione però è cozzata con i rilievi effettuati nell’abitazione e con le dichiarazioni dei testimoni che hanno fatto emergere altri episodi di violenza domestica: già a febbraio Monica aveva aggredito il convivente spruzzandogli spray al peperoncino in faccia e colpendolo con un pugno provocandogli la frattura del naso. La donna, attualmente in carcere, è assistita dall’avvocata Livia Sega del Foro di Roma.

Furthermore, some residents reported hearing screams from the couple’s apartment around 11 p.m. on April 26th, as well as noises indicative of violent blows against the wall.
The woman justified everything with an episode of drunkenness: the partner, in a state of intoxication, had accidentally fallen, hitting his head. However, this version contradicts the findings made in the apartment and the testimony of the witnesses, which revealed other episodes of domestic violence: in February, Monica had assaulted her partner by spraying pepper spray in his face and hitting him with a punch, causing him a broken nose. The woman, currently in prison, is being represented by lawyer Livia Sega of the Foro di Roma.
