As we come to the end of the Christmas season, celebrating the birth of Christ, here is a medallion featuring the reason Jesus came to us, from John 3:16. Let's take a couple of verses either side for more context:

John 3:14 "Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,

15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son."

Happy feast day of St Eligius! Patron Saint of Numismatics!

St. Eligius, with your hands you wrought beauty and with your heart you won friends and through both you glorified God. Befriend us, dear saint, and pray that we will use our God-given talents to serve Him. Amen.

Hi everyone! For those who follow me for numismatic information: good news! FediGroups have setup the @numismatics group, and you can follow it! I will try to ensure everything I post mentions it, and if you do as well, it will ensure I see it too :)

Thanks to @hello! And thanks to @FediThing who prompted me to explore further :)

Finally, for those who follow me NOT for numismatic news..... I am very curious - please reach out and let me know, as it is all I post! :)

EDIT: As I just remembered - you need to FOLLOW @numismatics before you can post to it.... and that applies to me to even though I requested the group :)

Here's a #MondayMedal featuring the Citroën Visa, a small car made from 1978 - 1988. "Reunion des agents Citroën" on one side with a side view of the 1978 car and an individual number. On the other side, a front three quarter view with the brand and model name. A nice big medal, and it's interesting what photography does - that verdigris is barely noticeable in hand, but stands out in the photograph.
